How much does it cost to go to the cinema in the USA, and why Russians consider it a luxury
Why, it would seem, the usual trip to the cinema is considered by us in the USA a luxury? The answer to this question was given by the author blog "America under the microscope" on Yandex.Zen.
Next - from the first person.
I do not come to the United States for entertainment or work, but for the sake of those people with whom I will not be able to meet in Russia. But in order to feel good, I have to work in the States, even if I only come for a month. Money leaves very quickly.
Mostly I spend on food, but there is also entertainment. Since I am a film fan, I never miss the opportunity to watch the new premiere in English, but going to an American cinema is a luxury for me.
The cost of a ticket does not depend on the coolness of the movie, the format (3D, IMAX or regular), but only on the time of day. In the morning, a movie ticket costs about $15, and in the evening - from $20 to $30. On weekends the price tag reaches $35. At the entrance to the cinema, you name the film you want to watch, buy a ticket and go through.

Only the hall number is marked on the ticket. You don't have a seat as such, in the USA they just buy a ticket and sit down where they are free.
In this regard, some cunning people come in the morning, buy the cheapest ticket and secretly go to watch all the films several times a day. If they are caught, they simply say that they made a mistake or lost their ticket.
But the huge cost of tickets is not the only disadvantage. If you want to eat popcorn or simply drink water, you will pay the same amount. Popcorn will cost $10-$15, soda $5-$7. Plain water costs about the same. This is why I treat American cinema as a luxury. If you go as a couple, then in total you spend $60-$70, which even with American salaries is fabulous money.
