Heavy snowfall in New York changed the movement of public transport

A heavy snowstorm that rages in three states - New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, led to a change in traffic. He writes about it NBC New York.

Metro New York

The city metro operates in a “plan for cold weather conditions”, so some trains continued to move.

“We have full control of the situation and will continue to do so throughout the day,” Metro Chairman Joe Lhtota said.

Metro employees work in enhanced mode to continue working.

Buses New York

All twin buses will be equipped with an anti-slip system, in the morning of January 4. Standard buses will be equipped with all-season tires or winter tires. Enhanced snow control will be in effect until January 5.

Long Island Railroad

There were train delays from 30 to 40 minutes on 15: 00 on this railway. Work has been suspended on the West Hempstead branch. On the Port Jefferson branch, the movement was stopped because of a fallen tree. Trains to Hempstead and Port Jefferson were late for 10-30 minutes due to weather conditions. Services warn that train movements will be intermittent and suspended.

Metro-north

Here, trains lingered until 30 minutes, at New Canaan, Vassaiq, Danbury, Warbury, Hudson, Haarlem and New Haven stations. Pasac Valley and Port Gervis trains were delayed by 15 minutes. Check the information on the movement of trains can be on MTA.info/MNR, as well as on Twitter.

NJ Transit

NJ Transit will work as long as the weather conditions allow. For the 196 and 197 routes, the route line will go through the Port Jervis line at Harriman, Smokyo and Sloazburg stations. Due to weather conditions, Access Link suspends all morning shipments to Atlantic, Cape May and South Ocean.
