Heavy snowfall and icy rains: weather on the weekend will not let the residents of the USA relax

Arctic air moves from the northeast, and stormy weather is expected on both US coasts. Weekends will be remembered for rainy, snowy and icy weather.

Meanwhile, a series of Pacific storms will bring heavy rain and snow over the weekend to the western United States.

This morning, 10 western states received a winter warning of heavy snowfall from Washington to New Mexico.

On weekends, from the Sierra Ridge to the Rockies, 1-3 feet (30,4-91,4 m) of snow are expected. There will also be a danger of avalanches converging here.

2-3 inches (5-7,6 cm) of precipitation falls in some areas along the coast of Northern California and Southern Oregon.
