Schwarzenegger and Stallone carved Halloween pumpkins together with combat knives: it didn’t work out very well, but the stars are happy

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the 75-year-old star of "Predator", has joined forces with another iconic Hollywood macho, 76-year-old Sylvester Stallone, in carving a pumpkin, reports PageSix.

In their inimitable style, The Expendables co-stars used survival knives to get the job done.

On the evening of October 18 on Instagram, the couple shared a photo of their Halloween preparations on their accounts.

“Me and my great friend Arnold @schwarzenegger spending time in his amazing office carving Halloween pumpkin heads with survival knives!!!,” he captioned the photo. Stallone. “This is what real bad guys do in their free time!”

Schwarzenegger also shared the same image with his 22,6 million Instagram followers, writing: "Happy Halloween @officialslystallone."

The use of survival knives seems like a subtle nod to their film careers, as such weapons played key roles in Stallone's Rambo and Schwarzenegger's Commando.

The pair have come a long way since their high-profile rivalry in the 80s.

The two machos outdone each other in every way imaginable, from who had "the biggest gun" to who "had less fat when he started filming."

But they put it all aside shortly after starring in Escape Plan and The Expendables together, and a true friendship soon developed.

"I'm so glad we worked it out because it wasn't pretty," the former California governor said in 2017 of their past feud.

“We attacked each other mercilessly in the press. We called each other names and called out each other's weak points, and it was a kind of competition,” he added.
