Schoolboy from California suffered severe facial burns while experimenting in class
An 13-year-old high school student from Encinitas, California, suffered severe facial burns due to an explosion during a science experiment in class, writes Lenta.ru.
13, a year-old student of Priest Rivera, conducted a fiery serpent science experiment. The essence of the experiment is to soak the sand with alcohol, then fill it with soda and powdered sugar and set fire to it.
According to the guy, the teacher added too much alcohol to the fire, after which the sand exploded right into the boy’s face. The schoolboy said that all his head instantly engulfed fire.

After the incident, Rivera was taken to the hospital, where he underwent four operations on his face and neck.
It is not known now how well Priest's burns will heal and whether there will be big scars, but doctors are hoping for his speedy recovery. Rivera's family filed a lawsuit against the school for a million dollars. Representatives of the school refused to give any comments until the results of the investigation appeared.
