The 2017 hurricane season of the year, which has already brought a lot of trouble, will drag on for another two months.

Hurricanes Harvey and Irma celebrated the 2017 year as one of the most severe by meteorological standards.

For example: the number of hurricanes formed this year—seven at this time—is about double the average. This statistic is known as "accumulated cyclone severity," and this year's reading is the highest since Hurricane Katrina made landfall in 2005.

The Atlantic hurricane season officially lasts until 30 in November, but in the past, hurricanes also occurred on New Year’s Eve, for example, Hurricane Alice in 1954.
