The House of Representatives on Thursday approved a stopgap budget that will avoid a federal government shutdown when the current budget expires at midnight Friday. He writes about this “Voice of America«.
As a result of the vote (the votes were divided mainly on a party basis) with an 231 vote against 188, the House of Representatives adopted a funding project that will enable the government to function normally until January 19. Democrats did not vote for the bill, protesting, in particular, against the refusal of the Republicans to include in it an item on immigration measures.
The bill is sent to the Senate, where it may be considered later on Thursday.
