New Jersey family has been terrorized by an unknown person who calls himself an 'observer'

A New Jersey family that has been terrorized by a mysterious face known as the “Observer” for years has shared the details of painful trials.

When Derek and Maria Broaddus bought a house in Westfield in 2014, they were sure that fulfilled the dream of their whole life, but soon life in the new house turned into a nightmare - the family began to receive letters from the “Observer”, which talked about “secrets” hidden in the building, writes Fox News.

The “Observer” also threatened the three children of the couple, mentioning them in their letters by name.

“It has been many years since young blood ruled the corridors of this house. Have you found all his secrets? Will young blood play in the basement? Or are they too afraid to go there alone? I would be very afraid if I were them. It's far from the rest of the house. And if you are at the top, you will never hear them scream,” one of the letters said.

The family eventually moved to live with Maria’s parents, fearing for their safety in their own home. Broaddus tried to sell the house, which they bought for almost 1,4 million dollars, but could not find a buyer.

Derek admitted that the mysterious letters drove him into depression, and he felt like a doomed, seriously ill person. Maria said that she had seen nightmares about the “Observer”, in one of them she saw a man with a pitchfork calling her children.

The letters were delivered to the Broaddus house by mail. They were processed at the US Postal Service Distribution Center in the city of Kearney, located about 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Westfield.

Broaddus contacted the former owners of the house to find out if their “Observer” had terrorized them.

Andrea Woods, who lived at home with her husband, John, told the family that she once received a letter from an unknown person saying that it was their turn to “look after” the house. But, according to Andrea, it was the only letter of this kind that she received for 23, owning a house, the woman simply threw away the message and soon forgot about its existence.

The Broadduses also invited several experts, including a former FBI agent, to the house to find the sender of the letters. But the investigation stalled - all that experts managed to do was exclude several people from the list of suspects.

Some neighbors even accused the family of having invented the “Observer” and letters from him.

The Broaddus family no longer lives in this house and rents it. Derek admitted that he and his wife try to avoid visiting the house, unless there is an urgent need to go there. In this case, the family loses money, because the rent does not cover the payment of mortgage.

The day after new tenants entered the house, Derek went there to get rid of the squirrels settled on the roof. As soon as he got there, one of the tenants handed him a letter addressed to "the vile and wicked Derek and his wife Maria."

“Are you wondering who the Observer is? Look around, idiots. You may have even spoken to me, one of the so-called neighbors who had no idea who the “Observer” was. Or maybe you know everything but are too scared to tell anyone. Good move,” the letter said.

Derek Broaddus took this letter to the police, but the investigation failed again.
