The family of an American who died in the MH17 plane crash over Ukraine in 2014 has filed a lawsuit against Russian banks and money transfer companies, writes "Today«.

It is reported that among those killed on board a downed Malaysian Airlines plane was 18-year-old American Lucas Chansman, who was returning to his parents.

«We understand that we will never get our son back. But we are committed to bringing to justice all those responsible for his murder,” said his father, Thomas Shansman.

It is noted that the family of the American has filed a lawsuit against two Russian banks and money transfer companies located in America, which they accuse of providing services to the group responsible for the downing of flight MH17 - Sberbank of Russia and VTB Bank, as well as Western Union Co and Western Union Financial Services, MoneyGram International Inc and MoneyGram Payment Systems Inc for the provision of services in the territory of the so-called “DPR”.

As you know, a Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 aircraft flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed On July 17, 2014, in the Donetsk region after he was shot down, allegedly by a surface-to-air missile. All 298 people on board were killed.

Earlier, investigators in the MH17 case came to the conclusion that the Malaysian Boeing 777 was shot down in the skies over Donbass precisely from a Russian Buk. It was established that the missile belonged to the Russian air defense missile brigade from Kursk.

Also, the expert journalistic group Bellingcat believes that there is no doubt that the MH17 plane was shot down by a Russian Buk. The investigative team notes that the distinctive features in the image, which was presented as evidence by the Joint Investigation Team as evidence, match what is visible on the starboard side of the Buk 332, which was discovered in Russia four weeks before the tragedy with the aircraft.

The governments of Australia and the Netherlands, according to the results of the investigation, blamed the aircraft for knocking down the aircraft on Russia and called on her to cooperate with them in the process of bringing the perpetrators to justice and establishing justice for the victims and their families.
