A family from Massachusetts rescued a cute puppy from the road: he was not a dog at all
A family from Massachusetts rescued a small puppy, but in fact adopted a baby coyote. How did it happen, the publication said New York Post.
A coyote calf that had become separated from the pack was discovered by a local family in late April when they found it "roaming and upset" by the side of a busy road.
“A family took a foundling home after misidentifying it as a lost puppy,” the Department of Wildlife said in a Facebook post. “When everyone realized that they had made a mistake, they called us for help.”
The little coyote is now "recovering comfortably" in isolation, but will soon be joined by an adoptive sibling.

“When the cubs are vaccinated, they will grow up together and will be given the opportunity to grow up and learn natural behaviors in a large outdoor enclosure,” the agency said. “We are working hard to give them as much of a natural upbringing as possible and will work to replicate the basic behaviors and skills they learn from mom and dad.”
Although the story had a happy ending, it was not certain that coyotes could carry rabies, according to the New England Wildlife Center.
“If people were bitten, scratched, or had prolonged contact with an animal by a coyote, we would be required to euthanize the coyote and test it for rabies,” officials said.
