Today is International Polar Bear Day

International Polar Bear Day is held annually on February 27 on the initiative of the American non-profit organization Polar Bears International (founded in 1992, was called Polar Bears Alive until 2002), which is fighting to preserve the polar bear population.

Polar Bears International is asking everyone in the northern hemisphere to reduce their heating power on February 27th as a symbolic personal contribution to reducing the rate of global warming, which is reducing the habitat of polar bears.
