US Second Lady Usha Vance has announced that she is pregnant with her fourth child.

Usha Vance, the wife of Vice President J.D. Vance, announced that she is expecting her fourth child. In a post on the X platform, the second lady said she is looking forward to welcoming a baby boy at the end of July, writes Air force

"Usha and the baby are doing well," reads a statement published on the second lady's social media account on January 20.

Vance and his 40-year-old wife, Usha, have three young children: Iuen, Vivek and Mirabelle.

Usha Vance (née Chilukuri) was born and raised in the working-class suburbs of San Diego, California, to a mechanical engineer and a molecular biologist. Her parents immigrated to the United States from Andhra Pradesh, India.

She met J.D. Vance in 2010 while attending Yale Law School, when they joined a discussion group together on the "social decline of white America."

Before becoming Second Lady, Usha Vance had a legal career, including working as a corporate litigator at Munger, Tolles & Olson in San Francisco. She also worked for conservative judges, including Chief Justice John Roberts and Appellate Judge Brett Kavanaugh, before he was nominated to the Supreme Court by Donald Trump.

Usha Vance is the first vice president's wife in US history to give birth while officially serving as second lady. No second lady before her had given birth while in that role.

First Lady Frances Cleveland, wife of President Grover Cleveland, gave birth to a daughter, Esther, in the White House in 1893, followed by a second child, Marion, who was born outside the White House.

J.D. Vance is one of the most vocal members of the Trump administration in advocating for increasing the birth rate in the United States.

"I'll put it very simply: I want more babies to be born in the United States of America," he said in 2025.
