An illegal who escaped from deportation was accused of killing a woman in Alabama

A school teacher from Mobile, Alabama, died after an 16-year-old illegal immigrant with an unfulfilled deportation order faced head-on with her car and her car.

According to police, 49-year-old Sonia Jones was driving to work on the morning of March 18, when Domingo Marcos's car crashed into her car. He was later caught trying to escape from the scene. Jones did not survive the disaster, and Marcos was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries, writes The Blaze.

Marcos is currently detained on charges of murder using vehicles and trying to escape from the scene. Prosecutors say the suspect is an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, who in 2017 was arrested while crossing the border in Arizona, where he sought asylum.

After filing an asylum application, Marcos was appointed a court date and released, but he did not appear at the scheduled hearing. A deportation order was issued against the teenager, but he was in hiding and could not be detained until the incident with Jones.

Jones was a teacher at the Living Word Christian Center Kingdom Academy. Facility director Vonsil Banks said: “We really miss her.”

Jones left her husband Harold, two children, as well as her parents, grandmother and several other relatives.

Upon learning of the arrest of Marcos, a member of the House of Representatives from the state of Alabama, Bradley Byrne (Republican Party), said: “Again, someone illegally staying in our country took the life of an American citizen. How many more Americans must die before we take action to end illegal immigration, protect the border and ensure the safety of the American people? Enough! ”

Another member of the House of Representatives from the state of Alabama, Mo Brooks (Republican Party), expressed outrage at the death of Jones in Facebook, calling for stricter asylum laws and an end to catch and release policies that allow illegal immigrants, such as Marcos, not to appear in court and remain in the United States.
