Sandra Bland previously tried to commit suicide

African-American Sandra Bland, who was found hanged in a preliminary detention cell, allegedly told me before that she had tried to commit suicide before her death, sheriff Glen Smith told the Associated Press.

According to the sheriff, during a survey that all detainees were subjected to, Bland told that once, during a previous arrest, she tried to commit suicide.

Smith also reported that another guard spoke to the detainee, to whom she said that she was upset, but did not fall into depression. According to the sheriff, the woman was in good condition, and his colleague can confirm this.

According to the coroner, the woman hanged herself in a cell, but her relatives demanded an independent investigation.

The investigation is currently being conducted simultaneously by the state of Texas and the FBI.

On Wednesday, Texas State Police released video of Sandra Bland's detention. On the videotape made by the DVR 10 in July from the patrol car, it is clear that the patrol officer writes Bland a fine, and then demands that she put out a cigarette, to which she refuses.

When she refuses to get out of the car, the policeman unsuccessfully tries to pull her out. Then he begins to threaten with electric shock from a taser.

Sandra Bland gets out of the car, after which both she and the policeman are behind the scenes, but sounds like sounds of physical struggle are heard on the record.

A patrol policeman told other police officers who arrived at the scene of the incident that he had been kicked. He is currently on temporary leave.
