Sanders became the first Jew to win the primaries
Bernie Sanders made history as the first Jewish American who won the presidential primaries in New Hampshire.
Sanders, who grew up the son of Jewish immigrants, said he believes in God but does not consider himself religious. Last month, in an interview with The Washington Post, Sanders said that for him, faith in God means that “we are all interconnected, all lives are connected, that we are all connected to each other.”
There is a small Jewish population in New Hampshire. Rabbi Robin Nafshi told HuffPost that the popularity of Sanders sends a message about Judaism in America.
“It showed America that Jews come in all shapes and colors,” he said. Robin Nafshi believes that Bernie Sanders is a good example to all of America that the lives of American Jews are as diverse as those of other people. Perhaps even more diverse.
As wrote earlier by ForumDaily, Bernie Sanders confidently won on the primaries in New Hampshire among Democrats.
