Sanders won in Idaho and Utah, at Clinton, Trump and Cruz, one victory each
On Tuesday, voters in three western states of the United States came to the polls to take part in the next primaries.
Vox cites the latest primaries and caucuses in Arizona, Utah and Idaho.
Arizona Primaries
Among the Republicans, Donald Trump confidently won the primaries in Arizona, gaining 47 percent of the vote. In second place is Ted Cruz with 25 percent of the vote. Incredibly, Marco Rubio, who had previously left the presidential race, won more votes than the current candidate, John Casic. This was due to early voting. So many voters cast their votes for Rubio while he was still in the race.
This victory helped Trump get 58 delegates to his “treasury.”
Among Democrats, Hillary Clinton won a landslide victory with 58 percent of the vote. 40 percent of Democratic voters voted for Bernie Sanders.
Caucus in Utah
Among Republicans, Ted Cruz took the lead in Utah, gaining about 69 percent of the vote.
John Kasich finished second with 17 percent of votes. Trump was in third place with 14 percent. This could have been foreseen, since Trump was never popular with Mormons.
Cruise's victory provides him with 40 delegates to the state of Utah. However, since Arizona is the largest state, Trump still leads.
The Democrats have the same coup. The electoral support of Bernie Sanders far outnumbered Hillary Clinton.
80 percent of voters voted for Sanders, and 20 percent voted for Clinton. Sanders's victory was predictable, but the gap in results was very surprising.
Cocks in Idaho
Only the Democratic Party took part in the caucus.
Bernie Sanders got more votes and was able to confidently get around Hillary Clinton. 78 percent voted for Bernie Sanders, and only 21 percent voted for Hillary Clinton.
Thus, at the moment, Cruz has won in nine states, and his main rival for the right to become the Republican candidate, billionaire Donald Trump, in 19.
Bernie Sanders won in 11 states, and former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, also nominated by the Democratic Party, won in 18.
It was reported that the turnout at the party meetings was so high that some people had to wait about two hours to vote, and in Idaho the organizers even had to open an additional ballot place to receive thousands of people who came to the vote.
At the primaries and caucuses, delegates are elected for the summer national party congresses, which nominate official candidates for the November 8 presidential election, reports Air force.
Primaries are organized by state authorities, while caucuses are informal meetings initiated by party members.
