The youngest traveler who has traveled all over the world gives away airline miles
The former London banker and world's youngest traveler, having traveled to all 196 countries at just 24, is now giving away all his bonus miles for free on Instagram - but won't admit how many miles he's accumulated.
29-year-old James Asquith, founder of the Holiday Swap app, announced Instagram contest, writes Travel and Leasure. To participate, users need to subscribe to Asquita and to the account of his application, and also leave a comment about how many miles, in their opinion, they will be able to win and with whom they want to go on trips.
Asquith says he does this to inspire people to travel more, just as he does.
“It's amazing to listen to people who are inspired by travel, and these are the moments when I personally am happy, so I want to do something not just as a free gift, but to inspire and help people think about how they too can fly somewhere and explore new cultures,” noted the traveler.
All this is also an opportunity to promote Holiday Swap, which the creator says has “grown significantly” since its launch, partnered with Google and is available in 100 countries. The app uses a swipe feature, like Tinder, to allow people to swap houses with each other while traveling.
To increase your chances of winning miles, you can comment on the competitive post up to five times, and the one who will be closest to the correct answer will be the winner.
“Lots of people have written me really inspiring stories about why they want to win miles and what they would do with them,” Asquith says. “Anything from flying for the first time in your life to visiting distant relatives in another part of the world, it’s very touching and is exactly why I wanted to organize this competition.”
Asquith added that he will have a chance to recover his miles in the future, and then he will most likely organize the competition again, perhaps with a different accent.
His message offers several clues as to the number of miles he has flown.
"They're enough to get you around the world more than three times if you use them sparingly or treat yourself to the occasional first-class flight," the organizer said, adding that he uses the Avios program.
The competition will last eight weeks. Asquith will announce the winner of 23 September.
