A United Airlines flight made an emergency landing after a passenger was stuck in one of the toilets of the aircraft. About it Yahoo! News.

The 1554 flight departed from Washington, DC to San Francisco, California. An unnamed passenger got stuck inside the toilet because the door stopped working.

It is unclear how long the woman was inside, but footage of the incident shows that many passengers tried to help open the door.

“Now we're trying to open the door, ma'am. We’ll get you out soon, okay? ”One hears a man speak on a video of the incident.

Other passengers seemed to take the situation more carefree.

“I have been on many flights, but this is something new,” said passenger Todd Wagner.

Rescue attempts were unsuccessful, and the flight was forced to deviate from the course to land in Denver (Colorado). As the plane landed, the Denver emergency services boarded and were eventually able to open the door.

“Five hefty guys from Denver just pulled out a passenger. The plane burst into applause, ”Wagner wrote. “The woman looks dejected.”

United Airlines said the passengers were transported on a new plane. All safely reached their destination. The flight landed in San Francisco on 23: 00, being late for 2,5 hours.

Andrea Hiller, a spokeswoman for the airline, said that United Airlines executives called on everyone on board (including the trapped woman) to apologize.

Surprisingly, this was not the only toilet emergency that occurred on the plane.
