From April 1, USCIS will raise prices for immigration services: what will become more expensive and by how much

US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will significantly increase fees for various immigration services starting April 1, 2024, reports Boundless.

The change represents the first major price adjustment since 2016. It aims to solve the agency's operational and financial problems. The new prices will take effect on April 1, 2024, meaning all applications submitted after this date will be charged at the new, higher prices.

Which immigration fees will increase from April 1:

• Form I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative), typically used for family reunification, including marriage-based green cards, will increase in price by 26%, to $675 if filed on paper and up to $625 for those filing online.
• Form I-129F (Petition for Foreign Fiancé) will increase in price from $535 to $675 (an increase of 26%).
• Form I-485 (Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status) will increase in price by 18% (from $1225 to $1440). Two formally free applications as part of the adjustment of status process—work permits and parole—will now cost an additional $260 and $630, respectively.

Prospective applicants, especially those considering family immigration, must submit their applications by April 1 to take advantage of current immigration prices.
