A Russian-speaking resident of California was robbed three times in a month: he claims that the police do not want to look for robbers

To the editor YouTube channel "Bureau" addressed a resident of California, San Bernardino County Vitaly Ataev-Troshin. He claims that his home has been robbed three times in the last month, but the county police are unwilling to investigate and look for the burglars.

Vitaly lives in a small village in California's Mojave Desert. According to him, he wrote a statement to the police and even staged a picket near the local police station demanding that the robbers be found and punished. But the police, according to the man, simply ignore the investigation of these crimes.

"It is not normal. “I live in the richest state of this country, which has the fifth largest economy in the world, so it seems to me that the police should work more quickly, more professionally than they do now,” says Vitaly. “I’ve been robbed three times in the last month, but no one has found anyone.” The last time it was in broad daylight - just some strange unknown people in my small village, which is a 2-hour drive from Los Angeles, drove up a truck and started loading all my belongings that were in the backyard. They stole about $2000 worth of items."

“They stole two large grills, garden furniture and even a garden hose. Now the heat is already setting in here in California, and I can’t even water the trees because my new hose that I recently bought was stolen,” he said.

At the same time, the man says that the police do not react to these robberies in any way and do not investigate.

“Unfortunately, the police do not react at all, that is, they passively pay attention to these crimes when something is stolen from someone,” Vitaly explained. “I’m just horrified that this is happening in broad daylight in California.” Moreover, everything that was stolen from me can be found completely free of charge. People throw it away. But the most interesting thing is that these thieves are ready to come and steal these things from you, despite the fact that they may be sent to prison, despite the fact that they may be fined.”

Vitaly even staged a one-man picket near the sheriff's office, but this, according to him, did not lead to anything.

“I brought the last chair that I had left, which was not stolen, to this local sheriff and said that I needed to find the same chair, and with it all my things would be. The sheriff said that's not how they work and returned the chair. He also ordered me not to leave this chair near the police station during the picket, because it is illegal,” Vitaly emphasized.

“I have lived in California for 6 years. Initially, as soon as I came to the USA to live, I settled in California. During this time I was robbed seven times, during all this time. And this particular house has already been robbed three times in April 2023,” the man shared. “Every time I file a complaint and every time I inform the police about this, I even try to help find the criminals, but, unfortunately, no one is found.”

Vitaly tried to get copies of all his applications for April 2023, but, according to him, the dispatcher told him that the computers were not working and they could not provide him with documents.

Vitaly considers this behavior of the police to be wrong and suggests that this may be due to their salary.

“It’s very difficult to explain, because police officers actually make good money, they have a lot of benefits. I don’t know what this behavior is connected with, maybe just passivity. Such a village, such a village, where everything is, in principle, consistently good. So whether they conduct any investigations or not, they will still have the same salary,” the man sums up.

“I’ve been seeing a lot of crimes lately, in particular thefts. I don't know about the murders, and not much happens at all. I see few pickets, few objections from people. I remember 5-10 years ago in California people protested. Now this is not the case, people don’t protest, they are even afraid to evaluate the local police,” Vitaly is outraged. — When I publish some material, post it in local groups, they simply ban me and delete me. They don't take my criticism well. It's horrible. I am from Russia, from Moscow, where I have always struggled with such evil spirits, when the police do not react to anything. And now I’m faced with this here.”

“I don't know what's going on in California. I don't know what's happening to people. Many simply gave up. I tried to contact other people who represent this district in Washington and politicians. This is very difficult, because in addition to thefts, there are many other problems in these areas. And wherever I turn, almost everyone responds with passivity or answers, but nothing really happens,” he continued his indignation.

“But in fact, this is of no use, because people do not react, people are passive, people have forgotten about their rights, they have forgotten that they need to take to the streets, they need to speak up to change something. In my opinion, there will be some point when people will come out to protest,” Vitaly concluded. “When I started sharing with my neighbors, they all started writing to me and saying that they, too, were robbed and no one was found.”
