More: Diana Markosian's Santa Barbara explores the nature of the family and the American dream. Through a series of staged photographs and narrative video, the artist redefines her family history from the perspective of her mother, for the first time treating her as a woman rather than a parent, and resigning herself to the enormous sacrifices her mother made to become an American.

Weaving together the images of the houses where the artist spent her childhood in Moscow and Santa Barbara, the exhibition recreates the last days of the family in post-Soviet Russia and their arrival in the United States. The result is a deeply personal rethinking of her past and an exploration of the interaction between an idealized vision of Californian life and the reality of an immigrant experience.

More: This is an interactive educational exhibition about the world of dogs. It will take visitors about an hour to view the entire exhibition, including interactive stations and hands-on sessions. More: In the main cathedral of the San Francisco and Western American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia - the Cathedral of the Most Holy Theotokos Joy of All Who Sorrow - a pre-Christmas all-night vigil will be held. The early Christmas liturgy will begin at 07:30 on January 7, the late liturgy, led by His Eminence Archbishop Kirill of San Francisco and Western America, at 09:30.

The temple is located in the so-called Russian quarter of San Francisco and is the largest Russian church abroad and the spiritual center of Russian Orthodoxy on the west coast of America.

What: Mission District Tour

Founded in 1776 under the direction of Father Juniper Serra, Mission is the oldest surviving building in San Francisco. Inside the chapel, you will see some of the most intricate religious works.

What: Christmas Liturgy in the Church of All Saints

More: The Orthodox Church of All Saints in Burlingame will host the traditional Christmas litigation.

The solemn service, during which the birth of Jesus Christ is proclaimed, consists of a great vespers with the blessing of bread, matins and the first hour, and both vespers and matins are performed more solemnly and with greater coverage of the temple than on other days.

The Church of All Saints Who Shone in the Land of Russia belongs to the parish of the Western American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad. The service will be conducted by Russian-speaking priests.
