The number of new jobs in the US has decreased significantly

The number of jobs in the US economy in April 2016 of the year increased only by 160 thousand. This is the minimum figure for the last seven months, according to data from the Department of Labor of the country.

At the same time, the expectations of various expert organizations ranged from 190 to 240 thousands, writes CNN.

The unemployment rate remained at 5%.

According to surveys, in the run-up to the presidential election, the economy is the number one problem.

The current leader of the United States, Barack Obama, is trying to highlight the strengths of the national economy, while Republican nominee Donald Trump calls the country's economic situation "dire."

The key factor in determining the level of economic development is the number of new jobs created. Over the past two years, there has been a surge in employment rates in the US labor market: the number of people employed has grown by more than 200 thousand every month. Data for April, showing a significant drop below this value, may indicate a slowdown in the economy as a whole. Although, nAccording to experts, the economy is still growing, but at a fairly moderate pace.

One of the least comforting factors in the US economic recovery process is a weak wage growth. As a rule, the annual growth rate of wages, on average, is 3-3,5%, in the context of steady growth of the economy.
