Russian women called Putin a 'coward' and said their husbands were being forced to lie about the war in Ukraine

Russian wives have accused the Russian Security Service (FSB) of forcing their husbands to lie about the conditions under which they are fighting in Ukraine. The publication told in more detail Yahoo!.

They claim that the FSB threatened to send their husbands to death if they did not follow their orders, The Times writes, citing the Telegram channel of the group “The Way Home,” which includes family members of military personnel.

A report on the channel said that the FSB interrogated the husbands of the group’s activists, took their phones and would not give them back until “information about their wives” was collected.

The Federal Service demanded that the soldiers tell their wives to “shut up,” the report claims.

“This is followed by threats like ‘record a video saying that everything here suits you, or we will send you into an assault without a return ticket,’” the activists’ message says.

The group believes that keeping soldiers on the front lines indefinitely is contrary to Russian law and advocates for them to be returned home.

They bombarded Russian President Vladimir Putin's annual telephone news conference with questions about when their husbands would be able to return home and tried to stage protests.

“Why do we need a president who pretends we don’t exist? Who lives only in the TV, completely under his control? - the post says. - These are obvious methods of cowards and rats. And who is our rat king?

Despite the dangers of publicly speaking out against Putin or the Russian military, the group shares videos of women anxiously calling for their husbands to return from the front.

The war in Ukraine has come at a heavy price for Putin's forces: A recently declassified US intelligence report found that nearly 90% of the 360 troops with which Russia launched its invasion were killed or wounded, a source familiar with the intelligence said.

These losses forced Russia to take measures to preserve its military machine by dramatically changing its recruiting standards.
