Russian woman ranked second at Eurovision

Russian singer Polina Gagarina ranked second in the Eurovision Song Contest final-2015. The winner was the Swedish singer Mons Zelmerlev, who sang the song Heroes (“Heroes”).

Zelmerlev received according to the results of voting of the audience and the jury of 365 points, in Gagarina - 303 points. The maximum score (12 points) for the Russian woman, who for a long time was in the lead during the voting, was awarded to five countries: Belarus, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Estonia and Germany. Lithuania and San Marino did not award any points to Gagarina.

In third place is the Italian group Il Volo, who scored 292 points. The Italians, in particular, were given a majority of votes by Russian TV viewers who, according to the rules of the contest, could not vote for Gagarin.

Gagarin, who appeared on the stage as 25 in a white dress with a long train, performed the song A Million Voices (“Million Voices”). The authors of the composition are Gabriel Alares, Joachim Bjornberg, Katrina Nurbergen, Leonid Gutkin, Vladimir Matetsky.

Zelmerlev, who became the fifth Eurovision winner from Sweden, tried to enter the contest several times. He starred in movies, many television shows and recorded one music album.

After the first semifinal, which took place on 19 in May, the bookmakers predicted that the Russian singer would take second place, the bet on the victory of Gagarina was three to one. Mons Zelmerlev was considered the favorite of the competition, the bet on his victory was two to one.

In total, 27 participants competed in the final.
