Russian woman told about houses in the United States, after moving to New York
Life in America and Russia is very different, so many Russians, having moved to the States, talk about the differences between our countries.
And literally everything is different - both the way of life, and the mentality and habits, including the houses of Americans and Russians, are different. One of the Russians, who moved 8 years ago to the States, decided to tellwhat is the difference between countries.
Irina is from Tver, and after her spouse was offered a job in America, she moved with her family to the States. The Russian woman said that she lived in several cities and States of America, including in Massachusetts and in New York. In America, she had a lot of friends, whom she managed to visit. So Irina decided to talk about the so-called "chips", which are only in the house of the Americans.
First of all, it is a bathroom. The fact is that in the USA there is no separate toilet and bathroom, all in the same room, and in the shower stall there is no usual hose - the shower itself is bolted to the wall.
In addition, in the USA they consider only the bedrooms in the house, and besides them there can be a garage, a basement, a living room, a hall, and a dressing room.
It is also surprising for Russians that the doors in all rooms open only inside.
What else is interesting is that in American homes there is no lighting and lamps on the ceiling. So there they use lamps and floor lamps, and only the owners themselves conduct electricity to the ceiling if they wish. But here heating takes place in American homes both on the floor and on the ceiling.
There is no window sill in every American home, just a window to the size of the wall. The fact is that there are too thin walls. Even the windows themselves consist of two halves and open upwards.
It is also surprising that in American homes there are blinds that serve only as protection from the sun, but at night you can see who does what in the houses. Well, there are no curtains in America at all, but if there is, it is only for decoration.
Irina said that in 8 years, she was not accustomed to all this and never ceases to be amazed at such American habits.
