The Russians in the United States have created a robot that helps in the fight against the spread of coronavirus
The Russians created the robot Promobot 5, which provides information about the coronavirus, thereby helping to curb its spread. Writes about it USNews.
The friendly-looking robot spent some time in New York, in February it was installed in Times Square to help provide information about the new virus. Now he is no longer there, however, judging by map on the project websiteIn the United States there are dozens of other similar machines.
In particular, 3 of them are installed in Washington (District of Columbia), several in California, Philadelphia and other states.
How the robot works
Passers-by should fill out a short questionnaire on an iPad-like touch screen attached to the robot’s chest, and they can also talk to the machine.
The robot does not actually detect the virus. He asks if the person has common symptoms of COVID-19, such as a fever, and the person must press “yes” or “no” on the touch screen, after which he receives a message that he is not sick, advice to see a doctor or information about coronavirus.
“This thing is very smart. She’s really very smart,” said Tara Healy, who came to New York from London in February and interacted with the robot.
Developers
Promobot was created by a startup from Philadelphia who creates robots for business. His team consists entirely of Russian-speaking immigrants in the United States.
“We have developed special software to identify symptoms of coronavirus,” said the company’s business development director Oleg Kivorkutsev.
“We understand how important this problem is, how nervous people are, people are afraid of it. But if they understand a few simple things, for example, what are the symptoms of coronavirus, what should they do to prevent it, everything will be fine and everyone will be happy,” Kivorkutsev said.

A team of Russians also created a robot that can measure temperature - Promobot Thermocontrol - it can be installed in offices and public places. It can measure temperature in 5 seconds.
Measurements are sent to the database, including the face of the user and his full name (if it is present in the database). In case the temperature is not normal, the input can be limited by using a remote access system, writes Promo-bot.
В development teamexcept Oleg, they include Alexey Yuzhakov, Maxim Chugunov, Igor Eremeev, Daniil Oniskiv and Maxim Utev.
