Russians told who they want to see as president in the future.
According to a survey conducted by the Levada Center, 51% of Russians would like to see Vladimir Putin as president of Russia after his term expires in 2024. Almost a third of respondents, 27% of Russians, would not like this, reports “Currently,«.
At the same time, 57% of respondents said that Russia “needs decisive, full-scale changes.” Russians consider the most necessary changes to be an increase in living standards and wages, as well as a solution to social problems and attention to domestic politics. Only 10% of Russians thought that “no changes are needed” in Russia.
In mid-May, a bill prepared by the Chechen parliament was submitted to the State Duma to extend the powers of the Russian President to three consecutive terms. Earlier, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, noted that while Vladimir Putin is “in good health,” there is no need to think about a new president.
Recall that in Russia 18 March held presidential elections. 8 candidates took part in them. In Russia, at least 60% of voters voted - this is a high turnout. However, the presidential elections are recognized as valid, even if they are attended by one person, since in Russia there is no concept of a minimum turnout.
