In Russia, called the date of the landing of astronauts on the moon

Russian cosmonauts will travel to the moon and land on its surface in 2029. This was told by the head of the Energia Rocket and Space Corporation Vladimir Solntsev at a conference on space technology.

“The 2029 year is a man’s flight to the moon and disembarking on it,” said the head of the company producing the only currently manned Soyuz spacecraft delivering a man to the International Space Station (ISS).

He added that the launch of flights on a new lunar spacecraft was scheduled for the 2021 year, in 2023 the launching and docking of this spacecraft with the ISS. On 2025, an automatic unmanned flight to the Earth satellite and the development of appropriate technologies are scheduled.

Earlier it was reported that the landing of astronauts on the Moon is possible not earlier than 2033-2034, and the tests of the relevant complex were planned to begin in 2029-2030.

According to the concept of the project, the lunar take-off and landing complex will ensure the delivery of a crew of four from a circumlunar orbit to a predetermined area on the lunar surface, as well as from the satellite surface to the lunar orbit. The duration of the crew’s stay on the moon will be at least 14 days.

The fluctuations of Roscosmos with the development dates of the Earth satellite are associated with uncertainty in the financing of the Federal Space Program 2016-2025 and the current economic situation.

At the moment, the United States is the only country whose astronauts landed on the moon. NASA astronauts within the Apollo mission in the period from 1969 to 1972, made six landings on the surface of the Earth satellite.
