Russia has changed the rules of entry: what you need to know

In accordance with the Decree of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation, changes have been made to the procedure for arriving in the Russian Federation by air. This is stated in the message Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in the United States on the Facebook page.

The 14-day isolation of persons returning to the Russian Federation by export international flights, except for foreign citizens and stateless persons, has been canceled.

Arriving in Russia, from August 1, citizens of the Russian Federation must:

• before departure to the Russian Federation (when purchasing a ticket, but no later than check-in for the flight) fill out on the Unified portal of state and municipal services application form for arriving in the Russian Federation electronically
• fill out a questionnaire arriving in Russia on board an aircraft
• within three calendar days from the date of arrival on the territory of the Russian Federation, undergo a laboratory examination for COVID-19 by the PCR method and post information about the study result in a special form on Unified portal of public services
• in case of any deterioration in health within fourteen calendar days from the date of arrival in the territory of the Russian Federation, you should immediately seek medical help without visiting medical organizations.

Foreigners and stateless persons are obliged:

• when boarding an aircraft performing an international flight, carry with you a medical document (in Russian or English) confirming the negative result of a laboratory test for COVID-19 by the PCR method, made no earlier than three calendar days before arrival in Russia. Medical documents are allowed in the official language of the state of registration of the organization that issued such a document, with a translation into Russian, the loyalty of which is attested by a consular officer of the Russian Federation;
• before arriving on the territory of the Russian Federation, fill out the application form for arriving on the territory of the country;
• foreign nationals and stateless persons arriving for the purpose of employment must continue to comply with isolation requirements for a period of 14 calendar days from the date of arrival.

“Please note that as of August 3, citizens of Great Britain, Tanzania, Turkey and Switzerland and those with residence permits in these countries received the right to enter Russia,” the department said in a statement.
