“Russian business” in the United States provoked a drunken conversation counsel Trump
An investigation into Russia's interference in the US presidential election in 2016 could begin after a drunken conversation with advisor Donald Trump George Papadopoulos at a London bar in May 2016.
This is reported by the publication The New York Times, with reference to diplomatic sources.
According to one of them, then at the bar, Trump's adviser, “having drunk heavily,” told Australian diplomat Alexander Downer about the compromising materials in Russia on Hillary Clinton, and after a few months the Australian authorities relayed the conversation to the FBI.
Papadopoulos found out that Russia had been incriminating Clinton three weeks before meeting with an Australian diplomat, it was about stolen emails that could damage Hillary Clinton’s reputation and jeopardize her election campaign.
Sources of the publication did not specify what kind of data the adviser Trump gave Downer, as well as the very reason for starting a conversation between them on this topic.
Information from the Australian authorities was not the only reason why the FBI decided to launch an investigation into Russian interference in US elections. The bureau also received information that could indicate Russia's involvement in the course of the American electoral process, from the authorities of Great Britain and Holland.
FBI suspicions also sparked a visit from another adviser to Trump Carter Page to Moscow during the election campaign.
Recall US intelligence agencies are confident that Russia intervened in the US presidential election, promulgating the Clinton correspondence, which created favorable conditions for the victory of Donald Trump.
Now special prosecutor Robert Muller is investigating this issue.who also has to find out if Trump’s headquarters knew about Russia's actions and whether they cooperated with Moscow on this issue.
