Russian fighter crashes in Syria due to birds

In Syria, the Russian fighter Su-30 SM crashed, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The accident occurred around 09: 45 Moscow time over the Mediterranean, when the fighter gained altitude after taking off from the airfield Hamim.

However, Andrei Krasnoperov, a major of the Air Force, a master of sports in aerobatics on jet planes, in an interview with the radio station "Moscow Speaking", questioned whether a bird got into the engine.

According to the expert, in order for the aircraft to have problems with two engines at once, it had to get into a flock of birds.

“There is a situation: combat pilots, two literate ace, and that because of a bird there is such a situation? .. In my memory there was such that a bird of a heron size hits the engine, then the engine gets a stake. But it is necessary that two herons at least get into two engines. Because if he gets into one, he flies perfectly on the other, ”said Krasnoperov, noting that the fighter could have prevented something during takeoff.

He also stressed that the pilots could eject. “On this type of aircraft, a catapult is such that it is possible to eject at zero speed, actually from the ground, when the plane is parked. There is such a reliable catapult that it has already saved more than one pilot, ”explained Krasnoperov.

The double multipurpose super-maneuverable Su-30 CM fighter is the latest modification of the base Su-30. The aircraft is designed to block enemy airfields, destroy air, land and sea targets.

This is not the first catastrophe of Russian aircraft in Syria since the beginning of Russia's participation in the military operation in this country:

• In March, the Russian transport aircraft An-2018 crashed on the same Syrian airbase Khmeimim in March, 26 people were killed. The plane collided with the ground, flying about 39 meters to the runway. The agency also claimed that the plane was not shot down, and the cause of the crash was a technical failure.
• October 10 2017 of the year at the same Hmeimim airfield at takeoff crashed Su-24 aircraft. The crew died.
• 13 November 2016 of the year when landing on the deck of the cruiser "Admiral Kuznetsov" crashed MiG-29 aircraft K. The pilot ejected.
• In December 2016, while trying to get on the deck of the same “Admiral Kuznetsov”, the Su-33 crashed. Presumably, he could not catch on the cables of the aero-finisher, the length of the deck was not enough for braking, and the plane fell into the sea. The pilot ejected.
• 25 December 2016 of the year in the Black Sea crashed the Tu-154 of the Russian Ministry of Defense, which flew to Syria. On board were 92 people, including journalists, members of the Alexandrov Song and Dance Ensemble, the head of the Foundation "Fair Aid" Elizaveta Glinka and several high-ranking officers of the Ministry of Defense.
