The 72-year-old head of the US Department of Health and Human Services is known for his bizarre behavior toward animals. He recently returned to the spotlight after posting a video of himself catching two snakes with his bare hands on Dr. Oz's patio.

On June 15, Kerry Kennedy's 66-year-old sister told CNN's Erin Burnett that her brother caught a snake during her daughter's birthday party and then threw it into a pool where children were swimming.

According to her, a snake was discovered in the garden during the party, and she then called her brother. Robert arrived with a pillowcase and his then-infant son, Aidan, in his arms.

"He grabbed this snake and stuffed it into a pillowcase while holding the baby. It was frightening, to say the least," Kerry said.

"Then he went over to where the party was going on and stuck his hand in the bag. The snake bit his hand, and he pulled it out to show the children."

Then, according to Kerry, the situation took an even more disturbing turn: Kennedy allegedly gave the snake a field mouse and then threw it into the pool.

"A vole appeared, my brother grabbed it with his hand and shoved it into the same bag with the snake. The children screamed, afraid the snake would eat it," she recalled.

“After that, he put his hand back into the pillowcase, pulled out the snake, and it bit him several more times.

The pool was full of kids and my brother released this snake that had just bitten his hand."

Kerry, who criticized her brother for his work as head of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, said the case shows Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is unfit for his job.

"This is a person who, on the one hand, is passionate about nature, but on the other, clearly has a poor risk assessment when it comes to the safety and care of children," she concluded.

"Is this the person you're willing to trust to lead a healthcare system with this level of safety concerns?"

Kennedy has long been known for his eccentric behavior around wild animals and has repeatedly posted photos and videos of himself interacting with them.

In May, Robert posted a video of himself catching two snakes with his bare hands while his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, watched on, screaming in excitement.

The footage shows Kennedy chasing two black snakes and then grabbing them with his hands.

Dr. Oz's voice is heard in the background: "They're mating!"

Kennedy jokingly told the audience they were water moccasins, known as cottonmouths, to which his wife screamed, "They're dangerous!"

As Hines continued to plead with him to let the snakes go, Robert said the snakes were biting him.

“You’re crazy!” she said. “Honey, let go. I can’t watch this. Bobby, please!”

Dr. Oz's laughter can be heard in the background as Hines grows increasingly nervous. Kennedy himself, judging by the video, seemed oblivious to her reaction and laughed as the snakes tried to bite him. Black snakes are not venomous.
