Rating of the safest airlines in the world: only one carrier from the USA is in the top ten

This month AirlineRatings.com announced the list of the safest airlines for 2023. The study looked at 385 airlines at the forefront of safety, innovation and new aircraft launches. CNBC.

According to a press release, the study analyzed the following to determine the safest airlines in 2023:

• failures within five years;
• serious incidents in two years
• audits by aviation authorities and leading associations;
• fleet age;
• expert analysis of pilot training;
• COVID protocols.

It is important to note that while Alaska Airlines was the only American airline to make the top ten, Hawaiian Airlines, United Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines made the top twenty.

“However, incidents happen every day in all airlines, and many of them are related to aircraft or engine production problems, and not to airline operational problems. • Air New Zealand
• Etihad Airways
• Qatar Airways
• Singapore Airlines
• TAP Air Portugal
• Emirates
• Alaska Airlines
• EVA Air
• Virgin Australia/Virgin Atlantic

Qantas ranked first in AirlineRatings.com's survey. Australia's largest carrier edged ahead of last year's winner, Air New Zealand, in second place.

According to research by AirlineRatings.com, Qantas is considered the most experienced airline in the industry as it has a 100 year history of operations.

Air New Zealand flies to 20 domestic and 30 international destinations in 18 countries. In 2020, AirlineRatings.com named Air New Zealand the best airline in the Airline Excellence Awards.

The third-place airline was Etihad Airways, the second largest airline in the United Arab Emirates after Emirates.
