Flight from Los Angeles urgently sat in Denver because of the smell on board
The 569 flight of American Airlines, traveling from Los Angeles to Toronto with 100 passengers on board, was urgently redirected to Denver International Airport on Sunday.
Airport spokeswoman Daria Serna says the plane landed in Denver after the crew reported mechanical problems. Airline spokesman Kent Powell says that the Airbus 319 was redirected to Denver because of the smell on board. Repair teams investigate the cause.
Flight 569 landed safely and people were able to get off the plane.
Powell says the airline is working to deliver passengers to their destination.
On Friday, at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, the pilots interrupted the takeoff of 383 American Airlines flight to Miami due to a fire aboard.
All 161 passengers and 9 crew members were safely evacuated when smoke puffed out of the plane into the air. Twenty people were taken to hospital with injuries, mostly from evacuation.
