A child drowned in a muddy pool while six adults used drugs
A four-year-old boy drowned in a dirty backyard pool, while his father and several other adults used drugs in the house.
The body of Timothy Brooks was found in the pool near the house in Slydell (Louisiana) and immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors stated his death, writes The Mirror.
A month after the tragedy, the police arrested the boy’s 24-year-old father, accusing him of negligence and cruel treatment of a minor.
According to the investigation, Timothy was left alone in the backyard near the pool, while his father Zachary went into the house to take methamphetamine. In the house during the tragedy were six adults.
After the police discovered “disturbing” finds at the place of the boy’s death, a warrant was immediately issued to search the house.
According to the police, the house and yard were in a “deplorable state”, the property was contaminated with feces and urine of animals, piles of garbage and rotting food, as well as drugs and devices for their use.
The pool was filled with green water in which trash floated. There was no running water in the house itself.
Currently, Zachary Brooks is in prison, the court set a bail for him in 200 000 dollars.
