Real Groundhog Day: Illinois Teenager's Memory Restarts Every 2 Hours
16-year-old Riley Horner from Illinois wakes up every day thinking that it is 11 on June, the day she suffered a head injury, which causes her memory to be reset every two hours. Writes about this New York Post.
“I have a calendar on the door. I look at it and it's September and it's like, 'Wow,'" said 16-year-old Riley Horner. “People don’t understand—it’s like a movie.”
Horner's nightmare began on June 11 when she accidentally got hit in the head while dancing.
Despite dozens of trips to hospitals, doctors still do not know what exactly causes the girl such a loss of memory.
"They tell us everything is fine medically," said the girl's mother, Sarah Horne. - They didn't find anything. No concussion on MRI or CT. No bleeding, no swelling."
Riley keeps a diary and writes everything that happens to her there, in addition, she takes pictures of what is happening on the phone in order to be able to restore the necessary information in her memory, for example, where her locker is located.

She also does not remember the big events, even related to the family.
“My brother passed away last week and she probably has no idea,” her mother said. “We remind her of many things every day, but she still forgets everything.”
The girl’s family is very worried about the future of Riley, since this memory problem can remain with her for life.
“I won’t accept this,” her mother said. - We need help. We need someone who knows more about this because my daughter deserves better."
