“Of course we will appeal. Let everyone be responsible for this. Because they found a fool to scapegoat and don’t even hide the fact that this is a contract case, they say it openly. The judge personally told our lawyer: “This is a custom case, I cannot acquit him.” It turns out that everything is in cahoots,” the woman said.

According to investigators, in December 2020, unemployed Zhora Khachunts, with the assistance of unidentified persons, entered through an emergency door on board an Il-80 aircraft (at that time located in Taganrog) and stole parts, the cost of which, according to estimates, amounted to 2,5 million rubles. . ($40 thousand).

The Il-80 aircraft was designed back in the late 1980s by the OKB im. Ilyushin and is the most mysterious aircraft of the RF Ministry of Defense.

There is an opinion that such aircraft are intended for use during a nuclear war if all ground control points are destroyed.

It is reported that this "doomsday plane" arrived at the airfield of the Taganrog PJSC "TANTK im. G.M. Beriev” back in 2019 to undergo “regular work”.

The fact that parts were missing from the board became known in early December 2021. Then the head of the aviation security service of the company contacted the law enforcement agencies. According to him, during the inspection of the aircraft, traces of opening the cargo hatch were found. In total, 39 radio blocks and 5 boards from the same blocks disappeared from the compartments.

Elena Khachunts said that her husband did not immediately become a suspect in this case. Initially, he was detained on December 26, 2019 for driving without a license. Before that, he served 8 months for drunk driving, then he was deprived of his license for 2 years.

As Elena stated, when Zhora was detained for 10 days on the case of driving without a license, investigators entered his cell and charged him with stealing parts from the “doomsday plane”. According to the wife, the husband was frightened and did not even understand what was being said.

The detainee's wife claims that her husband was not involved in the case of the theft, and all the charges against him were fabricated. “This is nonsense, we generally live on the other side of the city, and my husband saw planes only in the sky,” she said.

Elena emphasized that her husband was even physically unable to carry out the theft due to poor health. On September 1, 2020, shortly before the incident, he, according to her, received three stab wounds from “some kind of recidivist” during a domestic quarrel.

In media comments, she claimed that Zhora was at home all the time and never went outside at night.

“I’m so jealous that if he went somewhere in the evening, he would no longer cross the threshold of the house,” the wife summed up.
