Putin considers content of the hacked database of the US Democratic Party important

Russian President Vladimir Putin rejected accusations of Russian involvement in hacking the computers of the US Democratic Party, saying that he knew “absolutely nothing about it.”

According to Putin, at the state level Russia does not engage in hacker attacks on other states.

“And then, does it really matter who hacked this data from Mrs. Clinton’s campaign headquarters? Is it important? It is important what is the content of what was presented to the public,” Putin noted in an interview with Bloomberg.

Putin also said that modern hackers act “filigree” and leave their “trace” where it benefits them. According to Putin, it is almost impossible to check who actually hacked something and whose trace they left.

At the same time, the Russian president emphasized that he did not even imagine that it might seem important to someone that the headquarters of the Democratic Party “worked” only for Hillary Clinton, who eventually became a candidate for US president, and not for all party contenders.

“To do this, you see, you need to feel the nerve and peculiarities of the internal political life of the United States. I’m not sure that even our specialists at the Foreign Ministry feel this properly,” Putin explained. “Honestly, I couldn’t even imagine, to tell you frankly, that information of this kind could be of interest to the American public.”

In late July, the FBI headquarters reported that it was conducting an investigation into the e-mail correspondence of the National Committee of the Democratic Party. Hillary Clinton’s election headquarters suggested that hackers associated with Russia, hacked mail servers Democrats in the interests of the candidate of the Republican Party, Donald Trump.

The publication of letters appeared on the site WikiLeaks. According to these data, the National Committee, which was supposed to remain neutral, supported Clinton.

Trump himself called these accusations “a hoax.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said he could only comment on the Democrats' statement with "abusive words."
