Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Russian businessmen that investment in the US is unsafe and undesirable because of the risk of sanctions. The Russian leader said this during a meeting with businessmen in September, the newspaper reports. The Bell with reference to three sources.

“Guys, better stop sending money there: first, they can freeze and take everything away, and secondly, your investments will work against us,” one of the publication’s interlocutors told the president’s words. According to a second source, Putin said that Russian businessmen might be “between the hammer and the anvil” because of the political differences between Russia and the United States.
