During a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke out against creating an international tribunal to prosecute those responsible for the collapse of the Malaysian Boeing near Donetsk.

According to Putin, such an initiative of other countries is “premature and counterproductive,” the Kremlin’s website says. The Russian leader believes that in order to make a decision on the establishment of a tribunal and to attract the guilty, “active work is needed to complete an international investigation, which must be thorough and objective, independent and comprehensive.”

At the same time, Putin declared the inadmissibility of throwing “various versions of a frankly politicized nature” into the media.
