They hid ice cream and secretly gave cauliflower: how they tried to accustom Trump to a healthy diet
Former White House doctor Ronnie Jackson said he was trying to accustom US President Donald Trump to a healthy diet, but he did not succeed. He stated this in an interview with The New York Times, writes The Guardian.

Jackson said Trump could live up to 200 if he improved his heavy diet of junk food and admitted that he secretly put cauliflower in mashed potatoes, which was intended for the president.
“The exercises didn’t work out as I planned. But we worked on his diet. We limited access to ice cream and added cauliflower to mashed potatoes,” the doctor said.
The 52-year-old retired naval admiral left the White House in December 2019 and is currently running for Congress in Texas.

He worked with three presidents, but gained popularity when in January 2018 he announced that Trump had “incredibly good genes,” and “if he had a healthier diet in the last 20 years, he could live up to 200 years.”
At the president’s last physical examination, it turned out that Trump, who is now 73 years old, gained four pounds (1,8 kg).
Trump appointed Jackson to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs, but the doctor retired due to disagreements over his qualifications for such a role in the White House.
Jackson said he did not regret that he had missed a chance to enter Trump’s office. He also said that he did not use the services of Trump in his campaign in Texas.
