Protest against Biden's policy: Greg Abbot transported illegal immigrants from Texas to Washington and dropped them off at the Capitol

The first bus from Texas arrived in Washington, D.C. on April 13 in the morning. He brought in dozens of illegal immigrants as part of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's new plan to counter federal immigration policy during the ongoing border crisis. Writes about it Fox5DC.

Recently Abbott announced that he is instructing the Texas Emergency Management Department (TDEM) to transport illegal immigrants to the nation's capital and other locations outside of Texas..

The bus arrived at approximately 08:00 local time and stopped a few blocks from the US Capitol building. As it became known, people were brought from the Del Rio sector in Texas after their arrival in the US from Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela.

According to TDEM, Abbott's plan is already in the works. The agency said many of the communities that originally applied for support — from the Rio Grande Valley to Terrell County — say the federal government has stopped bringing illegals into their cities after Abbott's announcement.

Some wondered if Abbott's plan to bust immigrants was real. The White House called it a "publicity stunt." Even Texas Rep. Matt Schaefer, a Republican, called it a "gimmick."

TDEM said it sent buses to border communities over the weekend, where they coordinated with officials to identify illegal immigrants. The agency noted that each bus has the supplies needed to transport a maximum of 40 illegal immigrants from Texas to Washington, DC.

However, the governor's legal authority to bring buses full of illegal immigrants to the US Capitol remains in question. The 2012 Supreme Court ruling in Arizona v. United States prevents states from having their own immigration policies.
