In Germany, put up for auction belonged to Hitler: Jews ask to cancel the auction
On November 21, an auction began in Germany at which the personal belongings of the Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler and his wife Eva Braun will be sold. This provoked a sharp protest from the European Jewish Association. Writes about this with the BBC.
Among the auction lots - Hitler’s cylinder (initial cost 50 thousand euros, $ 55 423), autobiography Mein Kampf in silver binding, Eva Brown's black cocktail dress and her nameplate.
The European Jewish Association has asked the auction organizers, Munich-based auction house Hermann Historica, to cancel the auction.
Blood-soaked stuff
The Director General of the Jewish Association, Rabbi Menachem Margolin, said that you can’t earn on things that are metaphorically soaked in blood, especially in Germany.

Rabbi Margolin believes that items put up for auction do not represent great historical value. As a result, they will be acquired by those who still support the Nazi ideology.
“I know that it is not illegal to sell and buy items that belonged to the Nazis,” said the head of the European Jewish Organization. “This is not a legal request, but a human one.” You are doing the wrong thing."
Verified Buyers
The auction organizers rejected the allegations of immoral tenders, saying that they are trying to check the profiles of their clients so that there are no neo-Nazis among them.

“The majority of buyers are national and international museums, research centers and a few well-known collectors,” said Hermann Historica owner Bernhard Pacher.
In total, more than 147 items belonging to the leaders of Nazi Germany were put up for auction, including Hitler’s letter, a silver cigarette case and an apartment rental agreement in Munich.
