"Progress" burned over the Pacific Ocean
The Russian Progress M-27M spacecraft left earth orbit and burned up in the dense layers of the atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean on Friday at 10.04 in the afternoon.
“Reentry occurred at orbit 160 over the central Pacific Ocean,” an agency spokesman said.
According to him, the results of the investigation into the incident related to the accident during the launch of the Progress M-27M spacecraft into orbit will be presented no later than May 13, after the completion of the work of the state commission.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) confirmed that the Progress M-27M burned up in the dense layers of the atmosphere.
According to NORAD, the ship ceased to exist in 02: GMT, plus or minus one minute.
The Soyuz-2.1a rocket carrying Progress launched from Baikonur on April 28. On the same day, it turned out that the ship was not in the planned orbit, and contact with it was lost. After several attempts to establish control of the ship, experts declared it impossible to dock with the ISS.
