The problem with the spontaneous shutdowns of the iPhone smartphones 6s turned out to be bigger than originally thought.

This is stated in the official statement Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),.

Earlier, Apple launched the free battery exchange program for iPhone 6s, released in September-October 2015, explaining that the flagship 2015 smartphones of the year contain a battery component that has been exposed to air longer than it should, causing the batteries to fail faster.

Now the company has made an amendment that other iPhone models may face a corresponding defect.

“A small number of devices that are not part of the defective batch are susceptible to the problem of unexpected shutdown. Some of these shutdowns may be normal because the iPhone protects electronic components in this way,” the report says.

The company promises that soon a software update will be released with an additional diagnostic function that will collect different data in a few weeks.

Apple hopes that the information gathered will help them improve battery management algorithms and device shutdown operations.

“If the issue can be resolved through software, we will implement it in future updates,” Apple said in a statement.

The company also launched a special Page, on which by the serial number of the device, you can check whether a particular device falls under the battery replacement program that started at Apple.

The company stressed that smart phones with a defect do not pose a threat to the safety of their users.
