Tied with tape and taken in a wheelchair: American Airlines flight urgently boarded because of the violent passenger

American Airlines flight, which was supposed to fly to Dallas, was redirected to Oklahoma City approximately 20 minutes before landing. The reason was a drunken passenger.

Brandon Gunus's 32-year-old forced a flight from Pittsburgh to Dallas to make an emergency landing at Will Rogers World Airport after he started shouting obscene words and threatening others according to reports.

The crew and passengers had to physically hold Ganus, tying him to the seat handles with scotch tape.

After the plane landed, the police climbed aboard and brought out violent Ganus to the applause of other passengers.

The video can be heard as a man vaguely says something and asks the police where they are.

“The people on board did everything they could to restrain him,” said Sgt.

“He was uncooperative and made repeated threats and names of officers,” he added.

FOX 25 reports that Ganus was arrested and taken out of the airport in a wheelchair after he refused to go. He was charged with being in a state of intoxication in a public place, resisting arrest, assault, beating, and hooliganism.

In a statement, American Airlines confirmed the incident and reported that the flight again flew to Dallas about an hour after landing in Oklahoma City.

"We want to thank our team, as well as some of the passengers who have helped in this situation," the statement said.
