The best date for the purchase of airline tickets is approaching

The vacation period always leads to a jump in prices for airline tickets in the summer months, but every year there is a day on which it is very profitable to buy plane tickets.
In 2017, the magic days of low prices will be 21 August (for international flights) and 22 August (for domestic flights in the USA), writes USA Today.
These dates are the beginning of the autumn season in the airline industry: when children return to school, the demand for airline tickets falls, and therefore airlines have to reduce fares.
The amount that can be saved varies quite strongly depending on the cities of departure and destination, as well as the availability of transfers, the average savings will be from 11% to 20% compared to ticket prices in the summer.
Below are some examples of roundtrip flight prices in effect as of July 13th. Departure/return dates for summer fares are August 8-15, autumn fare dates are August 22-29.

- Summer: $ 181
- Autumn: $ 158
Los Angeles - New York
- Summer: $ 647
- Autumn: $ 399

- Summer: $ 680

The best days of the week for flights
August 22 falls on Tuesday, which is one of the most profitable days for domestic flights in the US (along with Wednesday and Saturday).
In the case of international flights, flights on weekdays, as a rule, will be cheaper than on weekends.
