Presidents of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan reached agreement on Nagorno-Karabakh
The presidents of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan met in St. Petersburg and reached agreement on Nagorno-Karabakh. This is stated in a joint statement released as a result of a number of bilateral and trilateral meetings, reports TASS.
«Владимир Путин, Серж Саргсян и Ильхам Алиев подтвердили предварительные договоренности по стабилизации в зоне конфликта и продвижению мирного процесса. Они также договорились увеличить число международных наблюдателей в зоне конфликта и выразили удовлетворение тем, что там в последнее время сохраняется режим перемирия», — говорится в заявлении.
According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Putin met separately with Sargsyan and Aliyev, then they had several more meetings in three.
The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan made statements in Yerevan and Baku in which they called this meeting constructive and expressed hope that the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict around Nagorno-Karabakh would continue.
For Aliyev and Sargsyan, this was the second meeting held after the truce reached in early April, which was stopped by a new outbreak of hostilities around Nagorno-Karabakh between the Azerbaijani military and the separatists supported by Armenia.
In May at the first meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Vienna after the aggravation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh was achieved peace agreement.
