The 18 Republican authors of the appeal celebrate the success of the Trump administration, which managed to merge the international community, which allowed for the introduction of new sanctions that undermined the North Korean economy and forced Pyongyang to negotiate.
The idea of nominating Donald Trump for the Nobel Prize in recent days widely discussed his supporters. The reason for this was the information that South Korean President Moon Jae-in spoke out in support of her at a meeting with leading members of the Cabinet of Ministers. Last weekend, during a rally in Michigan with President Trump in attendance, participants chanted, “Nobel, Nobel!”
“Being nominated for such a prestigious award should not be an excuse for political games,” he added.
The right to nominate candidates for the prize is held by heads of state, members of governments and legislative assemblies. In the past, four US presidents have won the Nobel Peace Prize: Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama.
