President of the United States published a rating of "fake media"

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday evening called the recipients "fake news award", about which he talked a lot earlier, writes "Voice of America".

This ad brought to a new level his constant attacks on some of the leading American media.

Known for his harsh statements, the Republican president called ten “laureates” by posting on Twitter a link to the list provided on the Republican Party website.

Among the "owners" of the parody award were leading television networks and newspapers - CNN, The New York Times and the Washington Post, who regularly cause Trump's anger.

Nobel Prize winner economist Paul Krugman, who maintains a regular column in the newspaper New York Times, got first place.

The administration said that he was honored for the fact that "on the day of the historic, crushing victory of President Trump" he wrote that "the economy will never recover."

1. Paul Krugman (New York Times) for the prediction that the markets will never recover after Trump wins the election.
2. Brian Ross (ABC News) for posting about Michael Flynn.
3. CNN for reporting that Trump allegedly had access to documents received from the site WikiLeaks.
4. Times for the message that Trump allegedly ordered to remove the bust of Martin Luther King from the Oval Office.
5. The Washington Post for a tweet by columnist Dave Wiegel that there were few people at the rally of Trump supporters in Florida in December.
6. CNN for the video report that Trump allegedly overfed the fish during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan.
7. CNN for reporting that Anthony Scaramucci allegedly had connections with Russia.
8. Newsweek for the message that the wife of Polish President Agatha Kornhauser-Duda allegedly refused to shake Trump’s hand.
9. CNN for reporting that former FBI director James Komi intends to refute the president’s assertion that he is not under investigation.
10. New York Times for reporting that the Trump administration allegedly hides a report on climate change.
11. All reports are about “collusion with Russia.” “The Russia collusion is probably the greatest fake that has ever been foisted on the American people. THERE IS NO COLLUSION!” Trump wrote.

Announcing recipients of the "award", Trump tweeted that "despite some very corrupt and dishonest materials in the media, there are many great journalists" who he respects and "a lot of good news that the American people can be proud of."

Republican reaction

However, Trump's list immediately provoked sharp criticism from leading Republicans who accused him of using Stalinist propaganda methods, writes Air force.

Arizona Senator Jeff Flake criticized the president for ignoring the truth and calling the media "the enemy of the people", he said.

Senator John McCain has published in the newspaper The Washington Post An article that calls on the president to stop attacks on the press.
